VFW POST 914 To Publish Anniversary Book
The Veterans of Foreign Wars "Intrepid" Post 914 of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania will celebrate its 20th Anniversary in 2011. For twenty years (1991-2011) we have honored those who have sacrificed so much for our country! To commemorate this special event, we are publishing a book showing our veterans in action after they returned home from military service. Following the motto, 'Honoring the dead by helping the living,' these men and women have participated in a wide range of service projects. A few of these projects are: Honor Guard marching in patriotic parades; distributing Buddy Poppies to raise funds for disabled veterans; serving snacks to our men and women in local Veterans' hospitals; supporting West Mifflin Area High School Air Force Jr. ROTC; taking the lead in our community to develop pride in our nation; and showing gratitude for veterans, living and dead. We are requesting donations to help offset the cost of this project. A contribution may be made by placing an advertisement in the 20th Anniversary Book. Your support is greatly appreciated. Please contact Post Quartermaster Mike Mauer for more information at 412-461-2305
