Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 914 'Intrepid' voted $250 to help support youth athletic teams in West Mifflin at its Jan. 31 meeting in the Thompson Run Athletic Association on Ball Ave.  In other post business, $260 was donated to aide wounded veterans and their families.

The posted voted $100 to the Fisher House Foundation.  This organization builds homes for veterans’ families near Veterans Administration facilities such as the ones in Allegheny County.  These homes enable family members to be close to loved ones during hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.

Help Hospitalized Veterans – a charity that provided hospitalized veterans with activity kits – also received a donation from VFW 914.  Funds were also awarded to the West Mifflin Baseball League and the West Mifflin Girls Softball Association.
