Members from Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post 914 'Intrepid' of West Mifflin have reason again to throw out their chests and be proud. Many decades after most of its assemblage won their last medals from the military, the post has received a certificate of appreciation from the 300th Area Support Group stationed in Iraq.
Signed by Col. Pamela L. Adams, unit commander, the certificate came as a welcome reward to the local veterans. For nearly a year, V.F.W. 914 post members have been sending care packages to troops in the 300th Area Support Group. Additionally, the post has provided telephone cards to troops deployed overseas so they can better stay in contact with loved ones at home.
"For your thoughtful and generous support of the 300th Area Support Group soldiers stationed at Lsa Adder, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom," the citation reads. "Your kindness and consideration are greatly appreciated by those who have received a care package, and the 300th ASG thanks you." |
