A great lunch of kolbasi, hamburgers, wings and frenchfries was enjoyed by all. 3WS was there with their "Sports Challenge" booth with great prizes for everyone. The dinner with the longest line ever -- half chicken, wings, shish-ka-bob, bratwurst, salads filled everyone up! "BERZANKA", a group from Brataslavia, Slovakia performed a great traditional dance show for the parish with a standing ovation at it's end. And, of course, fireworks (by ZAMBELLI INTERNATIONALE) ended the memorable affair |
Our CENTENNIAL FAMILY
PICNIC held at the church grounds was a great success. The start
of day had overcast skies and a threat of rain by the weatherman.
It did RAIN but this did not dampen the spirits of those attending the
gala affair! The rain started lightly about 1 pm and started into
a fairly heavy rain.
Father Bunchek stated that he had good word that the rain will stop by 4 pm -- and it did! (Many of us saw him disappear for a bit -- I thought that he was putting in a good word for the parishioners celebrating their 100th year.) About 3:30 pm it stopped and the clods departed and the sun shined! It turned out to be a great weather day. There was plenty of entertainment with with George Almasi playing polkas and favorite oldies. Various games booths were also there for the adults and children and of course BINGO and a CHINESE AUCTION...many browsed our FLEA MARKET for bargins. The firemen from Duquesne Annex, Skyview and the City of Duquesne had a great water battle performance with their members and equipment on display.
