Twin sister is Lucille HARTMAN. Graduated from Schwab Vocational High School Homestead, PA in 1956.  Worked with Mesta Machine Shop in West Homestead after graduating from school.   Enlisted in the US Air Force in February 1957 and was disharged honorably in March 1961.

Lived with his brother George until marriage to Lynn HAROLDINE in 1962.  He was divorced in 1976. Re-married to Glenda J. Stoffer on 23 NOV 1977. 

He worked for Lear-Siegler on gyro-scopes 1961-62.  From 1962 until 1966 he worked for Hatfield Construction.  In 1966 he started working for Kaiser Steel and worked there until 1983. He was a member of US Steelworkers as co-chairman and grievance man while working there. In 1980 he was elected to the executive board.

In 1985 he was hired as storekeeper for the city of San Bernadino, CA. Was promoted to lead storekeeper in 1989.  Member of San Bernadino Public Employees Association (SBPEA).  Member of the Knights of Columbus.
