Through the efforts of the
Centennial Committee of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, our cemetery and
church now has a FITTING TRIBUTE to all Veterans that have served
their country!
It was a "picture perfect" day of blue skies and clouds for the 250 plus members of the parish and honored guests who attended the affair. The ceremonies began at noon at the cemetery grounds located adjacent to the church. The Master of Ceremonies was Mr. Robert Preksta. The Presentation of Colors was given by The Korean War Veteran's Honor Guard followed by the singing of the National Anthem by soloist Debbie Walters. The Posting of Colors was given by the Korean War Veteran's Honor Guard with the Pledge of Allegiance led by State Senator Sean Logan. The Opening Benediction was given by our Pastor Reverend Edward Bunchek. Major General Walter F. Pudlowski, Jr. presented the dedication speech. Remembering Our Departed Heroes the Korean Veteran's Honor Guard gave the traditional "21-Gun Salute" followed by the Folding of the Flag and "Taps" with the Presentation of the Flag. "God Bless America" was sung by soloist Debbie Walters and the Closing Benediction was given by Reverend Msgr. Leon Darkowski, Captain, Chaplain Corp. U.S. Navy Retired. Ackowledgement of Attending Dignitaries was given by Father Bunchek with the Retirement of Colors by the Korean Veteran's Color Guard.
