Adams, Robert W Jr.: Funeral services for Pvt Robert W. Adams Jr. of 1043
Brushton Ave were to be held at 2 pm today at the John kekity Funeral Home 605 Brushton
Ave. Pvt Adams was killed in action May 5, 1945, on Okinawa. He served with Co. F 382nd
Infantry. He was 19 and was born in Windsor, Canada. He was graduated from Westinghouse
High School and belonged to the First Reformed Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his
father, Robert W; a sister, Susanne, and a brother, Thomas C. Adams. Military services
were in charge of Homewood Post 351, American Legion.
Bauman, Mary C. Mertz:Mrs. Mary C. Mertz Bauman, 75, will be buried Monday in
St. Marys Cemetery, Sharpsburg, following solemn requiem high mass in All Saints
Church at 10 am. Her son, the Rev Herman C. Bauman, assistant pastor at old St.
Patricks Church, 17th St and Liberty Ave., will be celebrant. Born in
Sharpsburg, Mrs. Baumann, 57 Vilsack St., Etna, died yesterday in St. Francis Hospital
after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Bauman had spent her entire life in the Sharpsburgh-Etna
district and was long a member of All Saints Church Christian Mothers Confraternity and
the Ladies Catholic Benevolent Assn. She was the widow of Herman Baumann, a retired
foreman of the pattern shop of the Lincoln Foundry at 62nd St. Besides Father
Bauman she leaves two other sons, Julian J of Harrisburg and Raymond G. of Mt. Lebanon;
three daughters Sister M. Paschal of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Baden; and Sister Francis
Clare, Order of St. Francis, Millvale; and Margaret at home; six grandchildren and a
brother, Joseph M. Mertz, Etna.
Beadling Charles Simpson: Services for Charles Simpson Beadling 200 Franklin
Ave. Wilkinsburg, a resident there for 40 years, were held this afternoon in Cooke Funeral
Home, 210 East End Ave., with burial in Homewood Cemetery. Mr. Beadling was a charter
member of the Union Gospel Church of Wilkinsburg and a retired employee of the Mesta
Machine Co. Surviving are his wife, Cella W. a daughter, Mrs. Ruth B. Young,m and two

Del Sardo, Joseph M.: Solemn requiem high mass for Pfc. Joseph M. Del Sardo, 27,
will be sung at 9:30 am Monday in St. Peters Church, Fernando St. He died on Luzon,
January 20, 1945, while serving with Co. K, 169th Infantry, 43rd
Division. Pfc. Del Sardo attended St Peter School and Connelley Trade School and was a
former newsboy in the downtown area. He was employed by the Jones & Laughlin Steel
Corp. prior to entering service. He had been a member of the 176th Field
Artillery of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Pfc. Del Sardo is survived by two daughters,
Marie and Donna; his father Joseph; brothers Michael, Anthony, Ralph and sisters Mrs. Rose
Simon, Mrs. Jennie Costello, and Mrs. Mary Jane Capanelli.

was a graduate of Wilmerding High School, where he was an outstanding football player in

Sutyak, Andrew: Pvt Andrew Sutyak will be buried tomorrow in Calvary Cemetery
with militry rites by Schenley Post, American Legion. Burial will follow requiem high mass
at 10 am in Holy Spirit Greek Catholic Church Oakland. Killed in action, December 18,
1944, at Vossenack, Germany, Pvt. Sutyak was employed by Carnegie-Illinois Steel Corp.
before entering the service. He is the son of Mrs. Barbara Sutyak and the late George
Sutyak, 3326 Ward St., Oakland, he is also survived by a sister Helen, and three brothers,
George Jr., John and Michael. Friends are being received in Elachko Funeral Home, Dawson
& Semple Sts.
