These obituaries were submitted by Patty Godesky who was searching for information on her cousin.  She noticed that there were servicemen listed that died years before in World War II.  I would guess that thse bodies were brought back home by families that didn't  want them buried in cemetaries overseas.

Ardine,Pvt. Nicholas A: at Luxemburg on November 24, 1944, Pvt. Nicholas A. beloved son of Mr. & Mrs. Harry, brother of Jane, Benny, William, Evelyn, and Virginia. Friends wil be received at the De Rosa Mortuary Paulson Ave at Winslow St. until Saturday at 7 am when military services will be conducted by the Catholic War Veterans Post 436. Solemn requiem high mass at Help of the Christians Church at 8.

Adams, Robert W Jr.: Funeral services for Pvt Robert W. Adams Jr. of 1043 Brushton Ave were to be held at 2 pm today at the John kekity Funeral Home 605 Brushton Ave. Pvt Adams was killed in action May 5, 1945, on Okinawa. He served with Co. F 382nd Infantry. He was 19 and was born in Windsor, Canada. He was graduated from Westinghouse High School and belonged to the First Reformed Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his father, Robert W; a sister, Susanne, and a brother, Thomas C. Adams. Military services were in charge of Homewood Post 351, American Legion.

Bauman, Mary C. Mertz:Mrs. Mary C. Mertz Bauman, 75, will be buried Monday in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sharpsburg, following solemn requiem high mass in All Saints Church at 10 am. Her son, the Rev Herman C. Bauman, assistant pastor at old St. Patrick’s Church, 17th St and Liberty Ave., will be celebrant. Born in Sharpsburg, Mrs. Baumann, 57 Vilsack St., Etna, died yesterday in St. Francis Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Bauman had spent her entire life in the Sharpsburgh-Etna district and was long a member of All Saints Church Christian Mothers Confraternity and the Ladies Catholic Benevolent Assn. She was the widow of Herman Baumann, a retired foreman of the pattern shop of the Lincoln Foundry at 62nd St. Besides Father Bauman she leaves two other sons, Julian J of Harrisburg and Raymond G. of Mt. Lebanon; three daughters Sister M. Paschal of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Baden; and Sister Francis Clare, Order of St. Francis, Millvale; and Margaret at home; six grandchildren and a brother, Joseph M. Mertz, Etna.

Beadling Charles Simpson: Services for Charles Simpson Beadling 200 Franklin Ave. Wilkinsburg, a resident there for 40 years, were held this afternoon in Cooke Funeral Home, 210 East End Ave., with burial in Homewood Cemetery. Mr. Beadling was a charter member of the Union Gospel Church of Wilkinsburg and a retired employee of the Mesta Machine Co. Surviving are his wife, Cella W. a daughter, Mrs. Ruth B. Young,m and two grandchildren. Mr. Beadling died Tuesday.

Del Sardo, Joseph M.: Solemn requiem high mass for Pfc. Joseph M. Del Sardo, 27, will be sung at 9:30 am Monday in St. Peter’s Church, Fernando St. He died on Luzon, January 20, 1945, while serving with Co. K, 169th Infantry, 43rd Division. Pfc. Del Sardo attended St Peter School and Connelley Trade School and was a former newsboy in the downtown area. He was employed by the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. prior to entering service. He had been a member of the 176th Field Artillery of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Pfc. Del Sardo is survived by two daughters, Marie and Donna; his father Joseph; brothers Michael, Anthony, Ralph and sisters Mrs. Rose Simon, Mrs. Jennie Costello, and Mrs. Mary Jane Capanelli.

Engelhardt, William H.: Funeral services for Sgt. William H. Engelhardt, son of Mr. & Mrs. R. E. Engelhardt, 228 Langley Ave, North Side, will be at 2 pm tomorrow in Arlington National Cemetery, Va. Sgt Engelhardt was killed in action July 7, 1944, Belgium. He was a radio operator of Bombadier Squadron 306. Besides his parents, Sgt. Engelhardt is survived by a son, William H. Engelhardt, Jr. and a brother Robert Engelhardt

Lebbano, Joseph A.: Sgt. Joseph A. Lebbano, 23, of 124 Middle Ave. Wilmerding, will be buried tomorrow in Braddock Catholic Cemetery following requiem high mass at 10 am in St. Aloysius Church. Sgt. Lebbano died April 20, 1945, in Borneo on his twentieth mission as a tall gunner with the 390th Bomber Squadron 13th Jungle Air Force in the South Pacific. Employed by the Westinghouse Electric Corp. Trafford he was a graduate of Wilmerding High School, where he was an outstanding football player in 1939 and 1940. Military rites will be held by Wilmerding VFW and George Westinghouse American Legion Posts. Surviving are his mother, Antionette Lebbano; three brothers, Phillip, Alphonse, and Michael, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Barrette and Mrs. Anne Kardistry.

Nath, Wenzel J.: PFC Wenzel J. Nath. High mass of requiem for Pfc. Wenzel J. Nath, former Mt. Oliver painting contractor who was killed in action in France January 15, 1945 will be sung Saturday at 9 am at St. Joseph’s Church. Born in Mt. Oliver, he attended St. Basil School. He was a member of the Hill Top Moose Lodge #151. Pfc. Nath enlisted in the Army January 7, 1944, and served with the 315th Infantry, 79th Division. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna B. Kalb Nath; three children Duane, Janice, and Warren Nath; four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Klos, Mrs. Margaret Gregorius, Mrs. Barbara Nath, and Mrs. Elizabeth Novosal, and two brothers Joseph and Walter Nath. Novak, John F: Funeral services for Pfc. John F. Novak, killed in action in France on March 15, 1945, will be held Saturday at 2 pm. in the S.W. Wolfe Funeral Home 304 Electric Ave., East Pittsburgh. He was 21. A graduate of East Pittsburgh High School in 1941. He was assistant scoutmaster of Troop 41 of East Pittsburgh and a member of Braddock Chapter, De Molay. Pfc. Novak went overseas in July 1944. Surviving are his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Novak; a brother, William, and a sister Lois. Post 2 American Legion will conduct military services Saturday. Burial will be in Penn Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.

Nuttall, Georgetta Tomer: Mrs. Georgette Tomer Nuttall, 5517 Howe St. teacher in Grace Martin School for more than 25 years, will be buried in Homewood Cemetery tomorrow following services at 3 pm in H. Samson’s 537 N. Neville St. Mrs. Nuttall, a member of East Liberty Presbyterian Church and the Dickens Club of Pittsburgh died Wednesday in New York. She was the daughter of the late Henrietta and George Tomer and leaves no immediate survivors.

Oldham, Harry: On Wednesday morning July 20, 1949, Harry, at his home 2118 Bentlay Dr. Terrace Village No. 1, beloved husband of Margaret Oldham (nee Wolbert); father of Mrs. Elizabeth Allen, Mrs. Cora Boyd, Kenneth, Ronald and Paul Oldham; also survived by 3 grandchildren. Reno, Addison K. : Services for Lt. Addison Reno a B-17 pilot of the 5th A.A.F. who was killed over Germany on March 23, 1944, will be held tomorrow at 2:30 pm. from the Sheraden Methodist Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Sheraden with military rites conducted by Langley Post 496, American Legion. Lt. Reno, a graduate of Langley High School, was a student at the Pittsburgh Night School of Engineering, and was employed by the Columbia Steel and Shafting Co., of Carnegie in its engineering department. He is survived by his parents David A and Pearl Rodgers Reno, 2 sisters Mrs. Pearl Pillich and Mrs. Thelma Rosso, and 1 brother, Ralph Reno. Rosenberg, Samuel L.: Second Lt. Samuel L. Rosenberg, 28, will be buried in Beth Shalom Cemetery following services in Blank Brothers Funeral Home 3222 Forbes St. Sunday at 1 pm. With military honors conducted by Jewish War Veterans. Lt. Rosenberg , veteran of campaigns in Germany and the Voges-Alsace Lorraine sector of France, was killed April 15, 1945. He entered service in June 1942 and received a battlefield promotion for bravery under fire in December 1944. His medals included the Purple Heart and Silver Star.

Sutyak, Andrew: Pvt Andrew Sutyak will be buried tomorrow in Calvary Cemetery with militry rites by Schenley Post, American Legion. Burial will follow requiem high mass at 10 am in Holy Spirit Greek Catholic Church Oakland. Killed in action, December 18, 1944, at Vossenack, Germany, Pvt. Sutyak was employed by Carnegie-Illinois Steel Corp. before entering the service. He is the son of Mrs. Barbara Sutyak and the late George Sutyak, 3326 Ward St., Oakland, he is also survived by a sister Helen, and three brothers, George Jr., John and Michael.
