HANDS/
VERSCHUEREN/ WILLHOFT/RUSH
I am researching my great grandfather,
Samuel Clarence Hands, and his family.
He died after an auto accident on May
18,1954 in Claysville. He was born Nov.
22, 1884 or 85 around Coal Center or Daisytown. I know his mother's name was
Anna and that he had at least two
brothers, Curtis and William, and at
least two sisters, Jennie and Edna.
Edan married a Charles Rush, also of
Washington Co. I know that Samuel lived
in New Eagle and Claysville at different
times and also spent time in Ohio. He
was an iron worker. He was married for
a time to an Ella Verschueren, daughter
of Earnest Verschueren of McDonald.
Sam's daughter, Lenora Hands Willhoft
was married to Joseph Willhoft of
Claysville.
Any information would really be
appreciated. My email is

I am trying to find out any information
I can about my family history located in
Germany. The farthest I can trace right
now is that my great-grandmother was
named Berta
Yokel and my
great-grandfather was named Karl
Wolf
(Wolff or Wolfe). They had three
children: Annalise, Inga, and Karl. Karl
Wolf Sr. won the iron cross during WWI
and Karl Jr joined the Lufftwaffe during
the second World War. My grandmother,
Annelisa, came to the United States
right after the War when she married a
paratrooper in the 101st Airborne
Division. Karl Wolf Jr. married a woman
named Marga and had a son.
Any help anyone might offer with finding
any information on this family would be
appreciated. Thank you.

I am researching both the
Weigand &
Baumgartner families, my grandfather was Cyril Weigand, his parents
(my great-grandparents) were Ambrose Weigand & Josephine Hinkel
Weigand. They were from Baden, Germany and they lived on Spring Hill
(Diana St) until the early 1940' when they both passed away. Ambrose
Weigand was born in 1862 and died in 1941, I don't know if he was born in
the U.S. or in Germany. Ambrose was a cabinet maker, he had 4
brothers, Conrad - born in 1850, Albert, Felix, Vincent - born in 1857,
and a sister, Eleanora Weigand Mueller who had a son named Henry Mueller.
I am also trying to do research on my grandmother's family, she was
Eleanor Baumgartner Weigand, her father was Charles Baumgartner born in
1868, in Baden Germany and her mother was Catherine born around 1872???.
Charles Baumgartner was a tailor and the family lived on Spring Hill (at
the bottom of Itin St). They were also members of St. Mary's Roman
Catholic Church on the NorthSide which is now closed.
Any information on either family would be greatly appreciated AMERS8181@aol.com

I am trying to obtain info on my great grandparents: Peter Louis
Trautman, b. 1842 and Elizabeth Bower
(Bauer?), b. 1842, both in Darmstadt, Germany. Both died
in Pittsburgh, Peter died in 1906 and Elizabeth
died in 1923. Both buried in Rosedale Cemetery. Any and all
info on these would be deeply appreciated. At
this time my family tree for the Trautman side stops at my grandfather,
George Adam Trautman, b. 10-13-1870
in Pittsburgh, Pa. died 1946. Janet Herbert janet.hebert@gte.net |
