I have two undated newspaper clippings, but suspect they are from the late 19th or early 20th century, regarding a claim of ownership of property in Hays Borough. One article states in part: "L.A. Bronson, who keeps a small grocery store at East McKeesport, is on the verge of becoming the richest man in the town and expects to soon share in the distribution of an estate valued at $10,000,000. The estate in question consists of 850 acres of ground, much of it unimproved with buildings in the borough of Hays and was owned by Mr. Bronson's grandfather, the late Col. George McLaughlin. The land was acquired by Bronson's grandfather through a colonial right bestowed during the French and Indian War by the British government." Bronson was a brother of my great grandfather, Andrew Jackson Bronson. I'm hoping to find the dates of the newspaper articles along with more information on the family in Allegheny County. If anyone has any information or suggestions on how to pursue this matter please let me know.

Searching for families ARENSBERG - MOORE - McMILLEN - ARZBERGER all of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

While doing my family tree I stumbled on a mystery I want to solve. In 1951 my great-grandfather Moore first name may have been Michael was murdered in his home on Library Road in Bethel Park. It was believed he was murdered over a patent. He was an engineer/inventor who worked for the government. The murder was never solved and have not learned of any suspects. The house was named "RED TILE INN".  It was a massive property and was torn down about 20 years ago. family said in the 20's the house had been a speakeasy.

Anyway I would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about the house or the family members who lived there. They are ? Moore Sr., Michael Moore son, Carrie (Arensberg) Moore son's wife. their children Carolyn and Michael and Carrie's son buddy. At the time John & Edith Arensberg also lived in this house.

The McMillen line is Thomas C. McMillen his wife Helen May (Artzberger) McMillen and their children Edith Margaret & Thomas C. Jr.     Any info would be deeply appreciated.   Cheri  car14@gci-net.com   1/18/02
